Dear Fellow Mammals and Mammalogists:
I cannot believe that the calendar has hit December! After the initial panic, I can appreciate the cadence of the year as a mammalogist where our white-tailed prairie dogs are underground and pronghorn are in the large winter groups here on the high plains of eastern Wyoming.I hope that each of you takes similar comfort in the way that that annual cycles of mammals mark the year and provide a sense of stability and predictability as the calendar chugs on.
As the end of the old year and beginning of the new year holidays approach, I wanted to highlight a wonderful way to share the joy of being an ASM member with family, friends, students, team members or even self, while also raising funds for our student grants. Please visit the ASM store on Bonfire and purchase a few items...from mugs to t-shirts to hats, you can don the ASM logo with pride and also grab a mug or shirt with the logo of the 2025 ASM conference at Purdue (everyone needs as many items with flying squirrels as possible in their home!). I have purchased most of these items and they are of good quality with the ASM share of the sales going to support our GIARs. Don't buy just one t-shirt, there are 7 days in a week! Everyone can have one ASM mug, but what if you are having coffee with a visiting friend...buy 2 so that they don't feel less than complete!
