Resolution Supporting the International Environmental Protection Act of 1983

WHEREAS, the Congress, recognizing the responsibility of the United States in helping to conserve natural biological diversity worldwide, passed the International Environmental Protection Act of 1983 specifically to aid endangered species, to promote exchanges of scientists, and to aid in international wildlife resource conservation; and

WHEREAS, implementation of such an Act will require adequate funding from the Congress;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the American Society of Mammalogists strongly urges the Congress to grant full funding for all three provisions of the International Environmental Protection Act of 1983.
